Amongst all possible benefits of tea there is, the most talked about is its hydrating and refreshing qualities. A cup of Darjeeling first flush tea or a pot of  Darjeeling green tea can do wonder to satiate our senses and rejuvenate our souls. While originally the clarity of a tea was much prized amongst purists, years have seen tea garner a varied dimension. With tea being blended along with other infusions, let’s take a look at five blends that any tea lover would love to savor. With every cup of tea that we have, we give our body a much needed boost amidst our daily routines. The antioxidants present in tea has enough power to ward of diseases and neutralize free radicals present in the body which may otherwise damage healthy cells. One of the most interesting part about tea is that we can actually amalgamate different types to create interesting flavours. We can even combine tea with various spices to give it interesting layers and textures. While black tea is mostly used in blending, varieties like the Pu’erj may also be used. Something that was triggered off as human curiosity, has over the years, become quite a popular lifestyle choice. Earl Grey Tea Blend: A blend with a highly distinctive flavour profile, the aroma of the Earl Grey is due to the bergamot oil, which is extracted from the rind of the bergamot orange. The Early Grey Jasmine Tea: With a green tea base, it is scented with aroma from jasmine blossoms to make a scented tea. A highly delightful and light concoction, the infusion takes place when tea leaves are harvested in early spring and the stored until late summer. Jasmine flowers, which usually bloom during this time are then the petals, are kept with the tea in layers overnight, during which period, the scenting takes place. A wonderful drink for a humid afternoon, the jasmine tea’s floral aroma is a soothing balm to weary souls.  Rose Tea: Another popular blend is the Rose tea. Easy to make, one needs to dry rose petals before infusing them with the tea in this case. A wonderful accompaniment to Darjeeling green tea, it needs to be mixed equally with the tea leaves when being made. Apart from tasting wonderful and aromatic, rose tea has polyphenol which prohibits cardiovascular diseases and also contains vitamin C. Peach Basil Iced Tea: A perfect reliever during sweltering summer, the peach basil iced tea is another beverage that is naturally addictive. The catch in this is one needs to first boil the tulsi or basil with the tea leaves (will go wonderfully with fresh Darjeeling tea) and then once cooled must add in the peach syrup. Lavender Tea: Lavender tea is another blend that is quite spectacular. Place lavender petals and mint leaves into a saucepan, pour water over lavender and mint, and bring to a boil. Turn heat to low and simmer tea until flavor is your desired strength, 15 to 20 minutes. Strain out mint and lavender petals and serve tea hot. If you prefer, let strained tea cool serve over ice. Lavender tea not only induces relaxation, but also takes care of digestive issues.
