LOCATION: Near Lakwah Oil Fields.

YEAR OF ACQUISITION: 1951

AREA UNDER TEA: 684 hectares

GROSS YIELD: 1,735 kg/hectare

FEATURES:  "NAHORHABI" got its name from "Nahor" trees, because once this area had beautiful forest of Nahor trees. Nahor bears sparkling red tender leaves during spring and it gives majestic look.

This is the first tea estate in North India to receive ISO 9002 certificate for growing , processing and marketing of Orthodox and CTC tea and probably the first in the world  as far as processing of Orthodox tea is concerned.

The estate employs 1,488 permanent workers, while in the harvesting season additional casual workers are employed. No child labour is employed on the garden. Excellent educational facilities are provided to children.  

For the spiritual upliftment of its employees, a temple has been built by the company. 

WELFARE ACTIVITIES: The garden provides free housing, fuel and water along with subsidized cereals.  During the monsoon and winter months protective clothing is provided to the workers. Garden has well-equipped hospital. Free medical treatment is provided to the workers and their dependants.

AFFORESTATION: A continuous program is underway to plant all fallow area of the garden with trees to help restore the ecological balance.
